What Role Does A Sensor Plays In Photography And Then Why CMOS Sensor Is Like Over CCD Sensor
What role does a sensor plays in photography and then why CMOS sensor is like over CCD sensor..........i have much economical choice for a 18 x optical zoom camera with wifi at the budget of 6500 in the form of samsung wb 200F, but then it is having CCD sensor, whereas same features with CMOS sensor is worth 9300 rs. in canon powershot sx 600 hs. what difference will i be getting to see, if i go for a CCD sensor instead of CMOS sensor.......all the other features remain same .....considering the money i am saving, otherwise i am comfortable with the budget of rs. 9300 even, if i may get to know some solid reasons to do that.......thanks regards
Sensor is arguably the most important part of camera, its virtually the digital replacement of the film that was used in cameras before. It does the job of recording information about what is seen through the lens, it bascially has millions of light sesnitive spots so a bigger sensor can gain more information than a smaller one and produce better images Coming to CMOS vs CCD its like IOS vs android, nobdy wins its use case that matters CCD take 100 times more power as compared to CMOS sensor but are more sensitive, but than CMOS sensor can be relatively larger to increase the sensitivity. CMOS cameras are usually less expensive and have great battery life. So if the senor size of both camera is same it should not matter much and you can go with CCD senor camera in this case samsung wb 200F
Dear sir Thanks for ur kind and early response and also for the details........ my lasy query was about CCD vs CMOS sensor as per my outlook to buy samsung wb200f.....wat i followed from ur response was that if i go for a CCD sensor then its being a expensive sensor camera shud be costing a lil expensive... even then if i m getting such a camera in an affordable range then definitely its a win win deal......secondly wat matters most is that low light images results of CCD sensors are reported to be of inferior quality in comparison of those through CMOS sensor, i shud be prepared for inferior quality low light pics if i m buying a CCD sensor camera......thirdly i sud also be ready for a higher battery consumption for a CCD sensor camera.......so, pl tell me if i have followed u inappropriatly.........could u pl mention and suggest battery life of samsung wb200f
There is no official information on battery backup reviews says 200 shots, well as per as low light photography is concerned there are two arguments there too, saying CMOS as bigger surface area so better low light photography and other hand CCDs use a special manufacturing process to create the ability to transport charge across the chip without distortion leading to high-quality sensors in terms of fidelity and light sensitivity. B/w the difference in price is also about the brand value associated with product, Canon is way above in terms of brand as far as camera is concerned. Plus obviously one comes with Samsung lens and other with canon. you cannot compare two lens on basis of their specs only, its like this micromax and other brands have 2 ghz octa core processor and 2GB RAM still lags as comapred to 1.2 ghz 1 gb ram of apple iphone. Specs are just numbers..
Great inputs.... Thnks......i never i wud hav to ask a direct question.... but it seems i hav to......so pl suggest samsung wb 200 f @ 6500 ? OR Canon power shot sx 600 hs @ 9000 ?........both seems to be having 18 x optical zoom, wi fi ....14 MP and identically same features..... sorry for one after one queries.
A direct answer would be i will pay extra 2500 for peace of mind. so canon powershot sx 600 hs Canon PowerShot SX600 HS buy from amazon currently cheapest and also reliable.
Thanks regards hatsoff salute sir
