Hi Varun, What kind of photography do you usually involve yourself with ? Based on that, I can suggest you lenses other than the kit lens.

asked

I Live in Himachal pradesh, the photography would be scenic beauty, family pics. A normal photographs which usually we click from our normal camera's or from mobile phones. I usually travel a lot.

Hi Varun, Based on your budget, you can go with Nikon D5300(I'm recommending this based on the fact that you know the ins and outs of a DSLR). It is one of the best advanced beginner cameras out there in the market. It comes with a 24MP APS-C CMOS sensor bundled with an Expeed 4 processing engine. Concerning image quality, it delivers outstanding images in terms of resolution, detail and dynamic range. It also does away with an anti-aliasing filter which maximizes the resolution thereby producing sharper images for the user. In terms of low-light photography, the Nikon D5300 does fairly well. Noise is pretty much absent till ISO 3200. It also allows recording at 1080 60p/30p and comes with Wi-Fi and GPS features.  Do away with the kit lens and instead go for a zoom lens (18-140 mm) so as to get wide angle shots for landscapes as well as portraits -  Nikon D5300 (AF-S 18-140 mm VR) If you have the budget later on, go for a prime lens. Make sure that you buy an AF-S lens as D5300 does not have an in-built focus motor.
