Camera For Capturing Kids Images And Video.

Need a camera for capturing images and videos of my kids. Do not want to vo for DSLR because of the size and bulk. Looking for a small, compact cameracaoable of giving professional quality photos of kids in action. Should be convenient to use. I come from a more point and shoot kind of canera users. Not satisfied with the image quality from mobile phones. Mobile phone cameras not great for capturing at children stage shows or sports day. Kindly recommend a good camera. Thank you. Regards

Hi Ruchita, You can go with the Sony CyberShot DSC RX100 2   It comes with a 1" sensor fitted inside a compact camera body making it a perfect pocketable camera. But what makes it a standout camera is its ability to shoot pictures in low-light. It's 20MP CMOS sensor delivers high quality pictures along with well-detailed and sharpness features.Has a maximum shutter speed of 1/2000s which helps in capturing fast paced action images like kids playing or in motion.  It has Wi-Fi capabilities allowing for fast transfer between your smartphones and the camera. You can also record videos at 1080p at 24/60 fps.

Thank you Manish, for your prompt reply. How does a sony DSC RX100 ll compare to Sony A5100.  Kindly enlighten on that. Thank you

If I am not wrong RX 100 II just has 3x zoom.  Difficult to get a long distance shot

Hi Ruchita, You can't actually compare an advanced point and shoot camera with a mirrorless camera(A5100). Both of them have their pros and cons.  Spec wise, the RX100 has got better display resolution, hot shoe interface and an optional electronic viewfinder. And it is one of the best advanced compacts to have come out from SONY.  Regarding the A5100, it has a got higher sensor size, meaning more gathering of information, better quality of pictures.  And it has a higher camera resolution too. And a maximum shutter speed.  Have you had any experiences with DSLRs ? or are you an advanced amateur ?

No experience with DSLRs, yet can call myself an advanced amateur. I am not comfortable with the bulk and size of DSLR. I don't know what a mirrorless camera is,  yet on certain blogs sony A5100

You were saying something about the A5100 on certain blogs ?

Hi Ruchita, The A5100 is a good model if you are looking at a mirroless variant.  Mirrorless models pretty much fall in the mid-way between DSLRs and compact cameras. They allow users to choose from different lenses like DSLRs do, complete manual control, better image quality etc. If you are looking to work with these features, then you can go ahead with a mirrorless variant. Mention your budget and we'll specify a model for you.

Thanks Manish appreciate your efforts in explaining the nuances. Budget would be arnd 30k to 40k.

Hi Ruchita, You can go with the Sony Alpha A5100 (E 16-50mm PZ OSS) It's basically the next variant of the Alpha 6000 and also comes with some upgraded features like the touchscreen enabled LCD, more battery life, better auto-focus system.  Sports a 24.3 MP camera resolution,  Full HD recording at 60fps Runs on Bionz X processor for better detailing and clarity in images. Frame rate of 6fps for continuous shooting which helps with tracking fast paced sequences. Has Wi-Fi capability.

Compact Camera With Really Great Picture And Film Quality

I have a Canon G9, but it has insufficient movie quality. So, I'm considering to buy a new camera. Either again compact like G16/G7x/RX100/G1x, or a bit bigger like alpha A5000 if quality is really better. But why not buy Lumix TZ60 / ZS40 as it is a lot cheaper. Makes me crazy :( ;)

That is lot of diverse camera to consider, I will be able to help you better if you can share more details on intended usage of camera, what matters most to you etc.

Hi Lucky Here's what I am looking for. Must -great quality of pictures and movie -compact (Canon G16 is about max) -light sensitive also in zoom -the camera must allow a wide range of situations: nature, city, portret, macro, stars Not-needed -high zoom -separate lenses -pocket size Hopefully you can give me some advise what camera's could be good for me. Thank you René

Sony alpha a6000 or Rx100 iii fits the bill. I would recommend a600 over rx100, the only reason for rx100 would be 50 g lesser and a lil smaller. why a 6000 >Hd video recording @60Fps >Awesome ISO range 100-25600 >Has an APS-C sensor for better high ISO performance >fast and responsive >Bionz X image processor (Noise reduction especially at higher ISO) >921.6K-dots tiltable (up 90 degrees, down 45 degrees) LCD display >Wi-Fi and NFC wireless connectivity, remote control Scene Mode(s) : Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Sports Action, Sunset, Night Portrait, Night View, Hand-held Twilight, Anti Motion Blur Picture Effect(s) : 13 modes: Posterization (Color, B/W), Pop Color, Retro Photo, Partial Color (R, G, B, Y), High Contrast Monochrome, Toy Camera, Soft High-key, Soft Focus, HDR Painting, Rich-tone Monochrome, Miniature, Watercolor, Illustration

Good Entry Level Camcorder Under Rs.20,000

My budget is under rs.20,000

I would recommend Sony HDR AS30V available at 22500 in amazon It feature a Full HD 1920 x 1080p Video at 60 fps, built in GPS and wifi connectivity makes it sweeter. it also does have micro hdmi out. Link- Sony HDR AS30V
