This budget device was launched with a price tag of $100. Manufacturer says that they are trying to keep the number of units as high as they possibly can with each flash sale. This affordable contender looks set to follow the same path as far as Xiaomi’s weekly sales model on Flipkart is concerned. This Flash sale concept seems to be working well with Indian consumers as it creates the buzz in the market and keeps up the excitement.
Xiaomi offered a micro-SIM adapter and a free screen guard with the Redmi 1S. This was another attempt to keep up the adrenaline rush and gain happy customers. Flipkart had confirmed that it had over 250,000 pre-registrations, so just about one in six interested buyers managed to snag one today. Following the trend, the next lot of the device will be available exactly a week later, i.e., September 9th, 2nd Flash sale. Registrations for that sale will open at 6 pm IST on 2nd September.
