All you BB PlayBook users, did you think RIM forgot you after that lousy 2.0 update? Think again, RIM has rolled out PlayBook 2.1 updated and is available from today. The new update has plugged some of the holes left behind by the previous update. That’s not all, now you can start sending SMS texts directly from the tablet through BlackBerry Bridge. Other new features include, support for a portrait view in email, calendars and contacts, Android App Player support for the camera and in-app purchases, device encryption that extends to personal data and wireless printing beyond the local network. For now only users who had purchased the original BB PlayBook (Not the carrier one), can get the updates. Others who have the carrier based LTE PlayBook will be getting the updated before the end of October.
