Asus has been creating a lot of buzz in the market with its cost effective devices. Asus became talk of the town when it released it smartphones Asus Zenfone 4, Asus Zenfone 5 and Asus Zenfone 6. It also released a smartwatch, Asus Zenwatch. These devices hit the market with good features and affordable pricing.
Asus Fonepad 7 was originally announced earlier this year in the month of May and is now marketed as exclusively available on Flipkart for Rs. 7,499. But it seems this exclusive deal has failed, all thanks to Amazon. This tablet is available on Amazon at a cheaper price. That’s not all, Flipkart itself has many other sellers for this device, other than it’s own W.S. Retail.
Flipkart has apparently become the new online launch hub for exclusives with many manufacturers looking at a single point distribution channel. After the success of Motorola’s Moto series Flipkart’s reach became quite evident. This time though the exclusive mark might just dilute Flipkart’s positioning for buyers? This has never happened to any exclusive deal so far on FlipKart.
Anyways, here’s a quick take on what the tablet holds. Asus Fonepad 7 features a 7 inch display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Clover Trail plus Z2520 processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM. The device will be running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS.
This tablet sports a 2 MP rear camera and a VGA front camera. The on-board memory of the device is at 4 GB that can be further extended up to 32 GB via microSD card slot. The device supports 3G networks, and connectivity includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi hotspot. Specifications of this device have been coupled cleverly to keep its cost low. Its price seems to be its biggest selling point as the device targets lower price segment in tablet market.
