5-inch mobiles are getting great response from the customers these days! With models like Galaxy Note and LG Optimus creating a trend, other mobile manufacturers are also looking at this segment as a profitable market. HTC, one of the makers which did not get great market share the previous year is planning to launch a 5-inch smartphone in September or October this year.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is being added to this Phablet (Phone + Tablet) segment officially with the company confirming the news. LG’s Optimus Vu and Pantech’s Vega S5 also fall into the same class. HTC now joining the market, I hope that it brings some charm to the maker as the company is not performing to expected levels in recent months.
This device is expected to come with resolution of 1794*1080 pixels and more details were not available from our source. As mentioned, Galaxy Note 2 can become a competitor for this device if the time of release is around the same time; Galaxy Note first edition being a hit. iPhone 5 might be up by then too but well, we need Apple to confirm this. Price range is be expected to be in $750-$900 range; this price is looking at its near competitor’s prices.
We will let you know as and when we get the info and if there are any HTC fans out there, keep an eye on this space!
