Mozilla Launches Intex Cloud FX Smartphone In India For $35

Firefox OS based smartphones are finally hitting Indian store shelves. Intex has launched India’s first Firefox OS smartphone – Cloud FX which is priced at $35 or INR 1999. Intex claims it to be “India’s lowest priced smartphone,” It also stressed that the Cloud FX is targeted at those who want a smartphone experience at the price of a feature phone.

This phone targets those who cannot even afford a basic entry level Android smartphone. This aggressive price of INR 1999 or $35 will force other Android/Windows handset manufacturer to reduce prices or launch new ultra-budget handsets. Mozilla says “Affordable devices like these could help get the next million people connected to the internet”. This phone is currently available for sale only on Snapdeal.

Intex CloudFX

Design and Features:

Body panel is made of plastic; the phone feels solid and durable. Despite using plastic there are no creaks. Volume rocker and USB ports sit well. Look wise it doesn’t look cheap. Intex Cloud FX features a 3.5-inch TFT display and a capacitive touch Home button. The left edge sports a volume rocker key and a micro-USB port, while the power button sits on top edge along with the 3.5mm headset jack.
