I have seen many users that while on Google Chrome they will open a new tab, browse to their mostly used search engine and then search. Google Chrome has a feature named as ‘omni bar’ now this is nothing but the address bar but you can always use that address as the default search engine test field.
Instead of logging on to ‘Google.com’ and then searching anything in the test field you will just have to enter the text in the address bar and you will see the results that very instant. But if you want to search anything in Bing or Wikipedia, then you will just have to change the settings for OmniBar and you will be able to search on any search engine in that toolbar.
But now Google Chrome Dev team is proceeding forward to provide the users with their search engine home page on the new tab (whenever it gets opened). So the users who are not comfortable with OmniBar and still browse to the home page of the search engine will not have to do it and this new feature will save more time for the users. Google has talked about it on their ‘Chromium Blog’ about this new (NTP) New Tab Page.
