Review of Samsung Galaxy S2

Samsung Galaxy S2 was released on February 2011 and launched on April 2011, it has been more than an year but still S2 manages to mark its place in the league of high end smart-phones.Year and a half is really long time in the field of technology where every day there are new releases and new competitions.  Let’s go through the features of this old horse that is running in the present league.

It has a 4.3 inches Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touch-screen along with corning gorilla glass. The capability of viewing the videos in HD, it is an experience in itself also the gorilla glass gives it more durability and makes it strong to go through rough conditions. You can have up to 7 home screens which means you are one touch away from accessing more apps right from the home screen.

S2 is equipped with 8MP primary camera with flash and with 2MP front camera for video chatting. The 8MP camera comes with so many features that you will always be eager what new can you do on your clicks. Samsung have not just stunned the users by the S2’s hardware but also worked on the OS pretty well.

Processor And RAM:
 Its 1.2 Ghz dual core processor gives awesome speed and helps in multitasking. It has 1GB of RAM, multiple windows can be opened and the performance is better compared to other smartphones with same specs. Browser is smooth and scrolling is faster. It came with Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) during its release but now it is available with Android 4.0 (ICS)   which can be upgraded to Android 4.1(jelly beans).

It has a 16GB/32GB internal memory and expandable up to 32GB through microsd card slot. So you get more space to store your pictures, data and your favorite songs.

It is just 116 grams in weight which is pretty light for it’s huge screen. Its back panel is stylish and textured which makes it scratch proof. It has a volume rocker at the left side and power button at the right side. In the bottom there is the charging port and at the top 3.5mm jack is available. It comes ravishing three colors (Black, White and Pink).

It has a standard Li-ion 1650mAh battery which gives up to 610 hr (3G) and 710hr (2G) at standby mode. It gives up to 18h 20min(2G) and 8h 40min(3G) in talktime mode.

It does not have a LED alert if you miss any call or message. The back cover is very thin which has a greater potential to break easily if it falls .You cannot set an unlock screen timer, it is set to 3 seconds by default.

S2 was released on April 2011 and is really good phone as it is still rated as one of the top 10 Samsung smart-phones. It is available at the reasonable price of Rs 25,000 in India.
