Review of Samsung Galaxy Y

Released in October 2011 Samsung Galaxy Y is the perfect blend of your normal featured phones with the pinch of smartphone feature which makes it a good contender of low end smart phones.

It has a 3.0 inch touch screen with 133 ppt pixel density. The screen is small which makes the phone perfectly fit between the hands and gives a good grip. It has a multitouch feature and its TouchWiz UI works great for its screen size.


It has a 2 mega pixel camera with 2x zoom which is really low for a smartphone, so you cannot expect very good quality pictures. It does not contain flash so you cannot use your camera in dark or at night. Camera quality is low but it is loaded with lots of features.


It has a 290 MB internal memory and expandable up to 32GB. So you get more space to store your data and your favorite songs.


It is just 97.5 grams in weight which is lighter and its back panel is stylish and textured which makes it scratch proof. It is lighter and sleeker. Also the small sized screen makes it easy to hold and give good grip in rough situations. It is available in   Metallic gray, white / changeable back covers in pearly white, dark black, fruity orange, bubblegum pink and silver platter which gives you more choice to go for.


It has 290MB of RAM, multiple windows can be opened and the performance is consistent at lower RAM. Browser is smooth and scrolling is faster.It contains Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) which is pretty decent for low end smartphone.


It’s not a perfect gaming device.High end games cannot work but lower end normal games work perfectly.


When you use live wall paper performance of phone drops remarkably. The camera resolution is really low so you are able to take pictures on your Galaxy Y but at the end of the day you won’t be satisfied with the image quality.


Galaxy ace and y are almost equal with same features. If you want to just experience the basic features of the smartphone then Galaxy Y will give you that experience in less price. It can act as your handy smartphone which can be used roughly without worrying much about anything happening to your Galaxy Y. It is also available at a handy price of Rs.6300 in India.
