Samsung unveiled its latest Galaxy offering, The Galaxy S III mini, at an event held at Frankfurt, Germany. The new phone is not just an beefed down version of its older brother, the Galaxy S III, it is a high performance smartphone in a compact form factor. Even Though the phone is made on a smaller form factor, it retains all the essential design elements from the Galaxy S III.
The S III mini runs the latest version of the Android OS, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). The phone comes with the standard set of Google features found on Android phones. S Voice, Samsung’s advanced natural language recognition software comes pre installed. It also comes with Smart Stay, a feature with which the phone’s camera tracks your eyes and keeps the screen lit as long as you are looking at it. Its S Beam feature lets you share a 10MB music file in just two seconds
by simply tapping on another S Beam-enabled device including GALAXY S III or GALAXY Note II, even without a Wi-Fi or cellular signal.
The SIII mini is powered by a dual-core 1GHz chip, has 1GB of RAM and a 4” Super AMOLED screen with WVGA resolution. The main camera comes with a 5MP sensor and can shoot 720p videos, there is also a front facing VGA camera for video chats.
