Xolo launches Era 4K: Budget 4G phone with 4,000mAh battery

The budget smartphone sector is heating up, with more brands upping the specs on their devices in this price bracket. Xolo launched their new device – the Era 4K. With a humongous battery, 4G capabilities and Dual SIM capabilities, it does promise a lot at the price at which it is offered at.


The Xolo Era 4K is a 4G enabled Dual SIM device. The display is a 5-inch IPS panel with full lamination, and a resolution of 1,280 x 720. There’s Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 layered over to protect the display. Under the hood, the processor is a 64-bit processor clocked at 1GHz, and memory capabilities include 2GB of RAM and 8GB of ROM which can be further expanded to 32GB using Micro SD cards.


In the imaging front, the rear shooter has a resolution of 8MP, and has a 5P Largan lens and dual LED flash. The front facing snapper has a resolution of 5MP, and an aperture length of f/2.2. Various camera features have been incorporated, including Beautify, Smile Detection, Gesture Capture, Face Detection and Multi Angle View Mode, besides others.

The OS running the show is Android 5.1 Lollipop. The USP of the phone is the 4,000mAh battery which promises 17 hours of talk time and over 500 hours of standby time on 3G.


The Xolo Era 4K will come in White and Dark Blue colour variants. Priced at Rs. 6,499/-, its direct competitor is the Coolpad Note 3 Lite. The phone will be on sale from 22nd February onwards.
