- software could be better
This a Review for the Coolpad note 3 Lite a device with 3GB ram and Finger print scanner at just Rs.7000 which seems too good to be true lets take a dive into the device and see if this is great value or just big numbers of paper which don't translate into real world.
Design and Build:
Right off the bat first thing i noticed about the Coolpad note 3 Lite is that how well its built. Previously i've always desired for a phone with better build when it came to devices like dazen, which had metal frames but always felt sub par and mostly glue'd together. None of that is an issue with note 3 lite it feels solid in hand the textured plastic feels great in hand and provides a great grip most importantly it does not feel like a 7k device in hand. Its on par with even Moto phones when it comes to feel in hand and heft.
Back of the device holds a 13 Megapixel snapper, which for the budget does quite well in good lighting and over a okay performer but as the light gets lower the camera tends to suffer, which isn't something to be surprised about in this budget and for 7k specially considering the rest of the specs its not something anyone should be complaning about. 5 Megapixel front camera does a decent job for selfies and video calls nothing too much to complain about not best in class but quite good nonetheless.
The display is the same 5.7 inch 720p IPS LCD panel, so it’s pretty nice to look at, and since the screen is smaller, the pixel density is pretty decent at 294ppi. The absence of onscreen buttons give more room on the screen as well. Screen over all has great color re-production and good viewing angles and over all its a great screen and can get away with the same screen in higher priced devices also and only issue i can think of would be the touch response and performance isn't on par with some of the other devices but its something you get used to overtime but its no where the top end devices.
Processor, Gaming & Finger Print Scanner:
The processor is MediaTek MT6735 a Quad core chip clocked at 1.3 Ghz which ensures the devices runs smooth even for some of the more demanding users. I was pleasntly suprised how well the device performed in day to day use with little to no lag other than the inital setup which had mutiple app download and syncing but phone generally handles daily usage with ease along with gaming thanks to a decent processor and full 3GB of ram which is unheard of in this price range.
Phone also handles Gaming without too much trouble for this budget most games run moderately well without much heating or issues and it obviously has frame drops and lags in some higher graphic games that isn't surprising considering its a budget device but over the ARM Mali-T720 MP2, Clocked at 600Mhz does quite well to handle what ever you throw at it. Finger Print scanner is one of the stand out features of this device since its generally reserved for premimum flagship devices and just started showing up in Rs.10,000 plus devices. I was expecting the finger print scanner to be slow sluggish and inaccurate considering the budget and already good specs on the device. Happy to say that i was wrong the finger print scanner works great and unlocks the devices with no issues 9 outta 10 times and just like the higher end device with a back finger print scanner with some practise, you will never even see the lock screen on the device when you take it out of the pocket and be presented with a ready to use home screen already.
The phone has a decent 2500 mAh Li-ion battery. The phone lasts you a day easily on moderate to light usage and there isn't much to complain about. If there was one thing was of quite a bit of concern it was the amount of time the devices takes to charge for its battery size. Phone comes with no form on quick charging which isn't surprising and not a big draw back but even using higher amp chargers form other devices the phone takes its own time to charge and will take atleast 2.5 to 3 hours for full charge.
The device seems well rounded and over all a really good device and hardone to beat at this specific price point. 3GB ram and Finger print scanner which works quite well makes Coolpad note 3 Lite a top notch device if your on a tight budget and software although is skinned but its not exessive and over all works quite well and there really very less to left to be desired from this device at Rs.7000.
