Taking this point into consideration, Gionee has recently launched their new device in the country. Titled the Marathon M5, the biggest feature of this device (both figuratively and literally), is its battery. In this article, we give a brief overview of all that this device has to offer.
Although the phone was officially launched in China in June 2015, the company has announced that it will be launching the Marathon M5 in India on 24th November at an event in Bengaluru.
Coming to the most outstanding specification of them all: the battery. The Marathon M5 comes with two 3010 mAh batteries, which takes the total up to a whopping 6020 mAh of battery life. The company claims that this would easily keep the device juiced up for 4 days of continuous usage.
Being a battery oriented device, the phone also features an extreme mode which boosts standby time to 62 hours, when there’s 5% remaining. Moreover, the phone supports reverse charging, which means that the user can use this device as a power bank to charge other devices as well.
As far as the other specifications are concerned, the phone features a 5.5 inch 720p AMOLED display, and has a 64 bit MediaTek MT6735 SOC underneath the hood, with a clock speed of upto 1.5 GHz. There’s 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded to 128G using MicroSD cards. The rear shooter is 13MP and the front one is a 5MP camera. The Marathon M5 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, has dual SIM capabilities and has 4G LTE connectivity on both the SIMs.
Launch and Pricing:
The Marathon M5 is stated to be launched in India on the 24th of November, which is just around the corner. It will be launched in Bengaluru.
As far as the pricing goes, when the Marathon M5 debuted in China back in June, it was launched at a price of CNY 2,299 (about Rs. 23,000/-). This phone would be a boon for those people suffering from fast battery drainage, and it raises the bar for most smartphone batteries out there!
