Design and Build:
The Samsung Galaxy A8 is standard Samsung affair and looks like most of its galaxy line up.
What stands out about the device is its large 5.7 inch device and is the thinnest samsung device at only 5.9 mm making it quite easily to hold and use even with its large screen.
Metallic finish on the back screams premium and feels like a solid device in hand.
Phone comes with a hybird sim slot meaning you can use the 2nd slot as a dual sim or a SD card but not both at the same time.
Design is well balanced and phone feels great in hand.
The Galaxy A8 comes with 16 MP Camera on the back and 5 mp in the back.
It takes great pictures under good light conditions and handles it self quite well even under artificial light and is one of the best camera’s in this price bracket, but starts failing considerably as the light gets lower and more of a mid range camera .
It also lacks the OIS and the quality form the Flagship Galaxy s6 along with focus speed and when it costs nearly as much as s6 it's hard to make a comparison.
The Galaxy a8 comes with large 5.7inch Full HD Super Amoled screen.
Which has great viewing angles and vivid colors along with deep blocks, its quite good even under sunlight and over all and great screen like most of Samsung's Super Amoled panel
The phone is powered by a mid range Samsungs own Exynos 5430 Octa which is an Octa core chip 4 A15 Cores clocked at 1.8 ghz and 4 A7 cores clocked at 1.3 Ghz.
Device performs quite decently but its pretty underpowered for this price bracket that it sells it and the processor used in it could have been considerably better.
Day 2 day tasks are done without too much trouble but the high end gaming the device does lag a bit and that is not a good thing when u consider the price.
Phone runs Samsungs latest Touchwiz UI same as the Galaxy s6 and runs on Android 5.1.1 touchwiz on this is toned down considerably and is quite snappy still not close to stock Android but is a considerable improvement over their previous versions of Touchwiz
Galaxy a8 comes with 3050 Mah battery .
Battery is one of the positives of the device and it easily lasts day with moderate to heavy usage and shouldn’t be a major concern for most of the people.
The Galaxy A8 is suppose to be a mid-range device but the pricing doesn’t make much sense. Since its almost as much as the flagship Galaxy s6 and lacks behind it in pretty much every single aspect of the device like performance , camera , screen quality and only thing it has going for it compared to the Galaxy S6 is battery life
