Design and Build:
Samsung has maintained the Glass and Metal build quality from 2015 and fixed most of the issues form S6 Edge now the device is slightly thicker which allows it house a much larger battery making the Camera bump smaller with the same button layout as last year with home button doubling up as fingerprint scanner.
S7 Edge is also Curved more on the back making it one of the best feeling devices in hand thanks to the screens curving to the edge's which makes it a true side bezel less device.
Samsung has also stepped up their game greatly this year and added water resistance to the device and leave you with very little to nothing that you could ask for from a phone since Samsung has even added back the SD card functionality.
India also gets the Dual Sim variant of the S7 Edge.
Samsung have always been leaders in smartphone camera and nothing changes in Galaxy S7 Edge, phone comes with a lesser 12Mp camera but this time it comes with F/1.7 Aperture, OIS, Dual Pixel Phase detection autofocus. What all this means is that although the MP count has gone down the Camera is better than ever resulting brilliant, fast and crisp photos in good lighting and brilliant and best in class pictures in low light beating everyone out thanks to dual pixel focus and large 1.4 Micron Pixel Size and F/1.7 lens.
If Camera is one of your priorities you just can't go wrong with Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
Samsung has been churning out best in class displays year after year and nothing's changed here. The 5.5 Inch 2560x1440 2k display is a joy to look at and use.
Deepest blacks you can get on a display thanks to Super Amoled tech, great viewing angles and high contrast and brilliant even under direct sunlight doubt there is anything more you can ask or expect from a display in current generation.
The Galaxy S7 Edge in India runs on the Samsung Exynos 8 Octa 8890 instead of the Snapdragon 820.
Although benchmarks score a bit lower on the Exynos Variant, in real life usage you not really notice any performance drops of issues, phone breezes past anything you throw at it with no issues and also no significant heating even under heavy usage thanks to Samsung's new liquid cooling technology inside.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge runs on Samsung Touchwiz UI just like all Samsung Android devices.
If there has been one complaint about Samsung devices always its been how heavy the user interface with too many features not implemented well.
Touchwiz has been toned down considerably on Android 6.0 and looks consistent and better than ever but it still leaves a lot to be desired and sometimes you would wish they take more of a Motorola or Sony approach to software.
Phone is still speedy and doesn’t have any visible issues but most touchwiz issues after a while and only time will tell if Samsung has made it truly better or if its the same with a new look.
Unlike its predecessor S6 Edge the Galaxy S7 Edge comes with a large 3600 mAh battery.
This ensures the phone has top notch battery life even for some of the heavy users.
what makes this even better is that phone comes with Quick charge support and Wireless quick charging making making battery top ups on the go really fast.
Thanks to bigger battery, better camera, water resistance, best in class screen abd ergonomics the phone leaves you with nothing more that would need on the hardware front on a Flagship device.
