Samsung Galaxy Star is a good looking dual sim smartphone which is one of the member of Samsung's low end smartphone family. Samsung Galaxy Star is low end smartphone so it is loaded with decent processor, good battery life, dual sim quality and Android V4.1.2 IceCream Sandwich OS. The features of Samsung Galaxy Star are highly basic and are available at an affordable price range. Samsung Galaxy Star is a decent low end smartphone which gives good competition to the smartphones like Karbonn A7 and Nokia Asha 501 .
Design And Build:
Lookswise the Samsung Galaxy Star is similar to most of the galaxy series smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy Star is made of plastic material which reduces the weight and makes it easy to carry around. The edges of Samsung Galaxy Star are curved which makes it easy to hold in hands. The front of Samsung Galaxy Star has a 3 inch screen along with home button at the bottom. The back and option buttons are on the either side of option button. The power button is on the left and the volume rocker is on the right hand side.
The camera is highly basic which is loaded with basic features. Samsung Galaxy Star comes with 2 MP camera which gives basic camera experience giving low quality shots and videos. The camera doesn't have an LED flash which helps to click images at night or dark background. The rear camera is not coupled with any front facing camera which would have given the user with video calling and Skype features. .
The display of Samsung Galaxy Star is a simple TFT screen which doesn't contain high resolution features or specifications. The screen output of Samsung Galaxy Star is highly basic which has 240 x 320 pixels display resolution aling with 65K colours which add more clarity to images and videos. The display is not protected by Gorilla glass so you have to protect the screen with a screen guard otherwise there is chance of getting the screen scratched or cracked. The resolution of the screen is low so the user cant expect the clarity of the display to be as good as HD resolution screen but the output is basic low quality. The screen is a capacitive touch screen which gives the user multitouch capabilities better compared to resistive touch screen.
The Samsung Galaxy Star has 800 Mhz Cortex A5 single core processor which which is good for a low end smartphone. Samsung Galaxy Star is also fixed with 512 MB RAM which gives decent multitasking experience. But due to the less capacity RAM and processor the user cannot enjoy the full features of Android V4.1.2 (Ice Cream Sandwich) smoothly without any lags and hangs. The high end OS gives a good amount of features which are not available on most of the low end smartphones with old OS. Some of the features like shake to update and turn over to mute are among the few features which are available in Samsung Galaxy Star.

The Samsung Galaxy Star is fixed with a 1200 mAh Li-ion battery which gives some good battery output. The battery capacity is low so the size of the battery is not so big. Due to the small size of the battery even the weight and dimensions of Samsung Galaxy Star are effected. The battery of Samsung Galaxy Star gives about 320 hrs of standby and about 14 hrs of talktime. The battery life of Samsung Galaxy Star is average compared to most of the smartphones with same battery capacity.
All in all Samsung Galaxy Star is a good looking low end smartphone which is loded with decent low end features but a really good OS which gives it more features. It is available at a low price range which makes it a good smartphone worth a look.
