Christmas is just around the corner, and that implies more launch offers and juicy deals by major companies in the tech sector. OnePlus One had some Christmas offers recently, with the OnePlus 2 going invite free permanently among other limited period offers. This time, Xiaomi is all set for its Christmas plans.
The company has a dedicated Christmas page on its website, with lots of discounts listed out. But more interestingly, Xiaomi has announced a new phone for the Indian masses – the Redmi Note Prime.
The Redmi Note Prime is a successor of sorts to the Redmi 2, and is the company’s second Made in India handset. Under the hood, the device has a quadcore Snapdragon 410 SoC with a clock speed of 1.2 GHz. In the memory department there is 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded via Micro SD cards.
The display on the device is a fairly large 5.5 inch IPS display, with a resolution of 1280x720. As far as the optics are concerned, the phone has a 13MP rear facing camera and a 5MP front facing shooter. The battery is a healthy 3100mAh one.
The phone runs Android 4.4 Kitkat with Mi’s own MIUI 7 layered on top, and the phone offers support for dual SIMs.

The phone will be available at a price of Rs. 8,499/-. It will be available exclusively on Amazon India, and it is also listed on Mi.com.

For instance, the Mi4i will be available to buy – with a free Soft Case and LED light – for Rs. 11,999/-. Other phones like the Mi4 , Redmi 2 , Redmi 2 Prime and the Mi Pad tablet have some accessory or the other bundled as a freebie.
