Design And Build:
This is the area where the iPad Air excels, with a thickness of just 7.5mm and a 9.7 inch Retina display every bit of iPad Air imparts a feeling of ingeniousness and precision engineering. The Screen is spread generously across the front facade thinning the edges. Apples signature bezel touch takes the anesthetics to an entirely new level. The speakers in iPad Air find a place for themselves at the bottom which will dampen the sound when it's held horizontally. iPad Air has dual microphones which cumulatively collects the voice from two points and eliminates the noise.
The 5 Megapixel iSight camera assists in capturing high resolution images with well lit internal backlight. The retina display takes the camera experience a notch above. The secondary camera is a 1.2 Megapixel unit which captures the video at 720p. Secondary camera is optimized to work well with facetime. It would have been great if Apple had blessed iPad Air with a more powerful secondary camera unit. The detailing of the pictures is good and the color reproduction is accurate.
Apple has set a benchmark with it's patented Retina Display. The Retina Display has a resolution of 2480 x 1536 which makes it impossible for the human eyes to detect pixelation. The screen is livid, bright and very well lit. The onscreen keyboard size has also been increased leading to easier typing. The screen is perfect for enjoying the multimedia features like movies and HD games.
iPad Air comes with A7 64 Bit processor which made its debut recently on the iPhone 5S. The processor is clocked slightly higher at 1.4 GHz. The M7 co processor takes care of certain sensor specific task making the device faster. The 64 Bit architecture blesses the iPad Air with high end computing ability allowing the users to experience highly detailed graphics seamlessly. Games like Asphalt 8 run smoothly unlike in other high end gaming devices where in it lacks the smoothness. Its noticeable that their is no frame drops while playing graphic intensive game.
Power On It:
iOS 7 is optimized to kill processes that sap the power when not being used this translates to 10 Hours per charge which is really commendable considering the screen size and the resolution. iPad Air has infact opted for a smaller 8827 mAh as compared to 11560 mAh in the iPad 4 .
iPad Air is definitely going to set a benchmark for itself. It's one of the best tablets available in the market today. Apple has made sure that Air is perfect on all features be it the processing ower, screen resolution, camera, battery and the user interface. Apple has left out the touch id which was a show stopper in iPhone 5s this will definitely disappoint buyers yearning for the same. The camera is flawless and the drastically thinned form factor makes it more desirable. iPad Air doesn't give buyers enough reasons to upgrade from an iPad 4 . If you own a second or first generation iPad and want a serious upgrade then iPad Air is the one for you.
